Continuous professional development is essential for health workers, especially in the field of women’s health. Across many contexts, women experience gynaecological and reproductive health problems that significantly affect their quality of life. Yet many hesitate to speak openly about these issues due to shame, stigma, or lack of trust, and therefore do not seek the care they need.
Health workers play a crucial role in breaking this silence. To do so effectively, they need up-to-date knowledge, practical skills, and the confidence to address sensitive topics with empathy and cultural awareness. This is true for both newly trained health workers and those with years of experience, as medical insights, guidelines, and community needs continue to evolve.
This educational material is designed to support health workers at all stages of their careers. It aims to strengthen clinical understanding, improve communication around sensitive gynaecological concerns, and encourage respectful, patient-centred care. By equipping health workers with accessible and relevant learning resources, we hope to improve early recognition, open dialogue, and appropriate support for women’s health needs.
The presentations about Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Discharge, Incontinence, Pelvic Floor Muscle and Menstrual disorders reflects the way the material is presented during community training sessions at the local health post, where health workers engage directly with the community in a familiar and accessible setting.
In the gynaecamp, sheets are used in the examination room as support for the health workers.
